Tarrytown, NY - (June 4, 2010) – Idea Storm Products has extended the imaginative premise of its Yamodo!™ games into a new group game, Yamodo! Party Time™.

Played in quick rounds, Yamodo! Party Time has all players compete at the same time to win the current judge’s favor by creating the “best” definition to a given made-up word and tagline. All players have to stay on their toes though, because midway into the round, the Judge spins the Spindoodler and the consequences add to the fun! Write it, doodle it, and feel free to lobby the judge on why your definition is the best. Every round has a new judge, word, and tagline - so you never know what your mind will draw out!

The object of Yamodo! Party Time (MSRP $24.95, exclusive at Barnes and Noble Bookstores) is to collect three Yamodo! word cards by having the “best” definitions and win the game.

To play, a judge is selected (at the end of every round the person to the right becomes the new judge). Each round of play lasts one minute. To start, the judge passes out a doodling card to each of the players. Each card has room for a written definition and the start of a doodle (to take away any pressure of hesitation from beginning the picture). The judge picks a Yamodo word from the deck and reads and spells the word for everyone. The judge then picks a tagline (a topic or theme) and reads it aloud. The judge then flips the timer over and everyone begins drawing and writing. When the 30-second timer is up, the judge spins the Spindoodler and calls out the results.

If the Spindoodler lands on Pass Right, Pass Left, or In it to Win it, the judge flips the timer again giving everyone another 30 seconds to finish. If the Spindoodler called Times up, everyone must turn in their cards and the judging begins.

At the end of the round, everyone turns their card into the middle of the table face down and the judge collects the cards. The judge then reads each card and shows any doodling that occurred to help illustrate the definition. The judge then uses their judgment to choose a winner for the round. The judge may judge on any criteria they prefer, such as most creative definition, funniest, most like the word given, opposite, etc. The winner of the round collects the Yamodo word card. The game concludes after someone has collected three Yamodo word cards.

Yamodo! Party Time joins the family of Yamodo! products that already includes Yamodo! Good To Go! (MSRP $9.95) and Yamodo! Volume 1 (MSRP $14.95). “The imaginative premise eliminates age and creativity barriers, giving everyone the chance to create together,” Bill Phelps , creator of Yamodo! and chief Imaginator of Idea Storm Products, explained. Playing the traditional Yamodo!, each person selects a card and then uses their imagination to draw and define the made-up word written at the top of each card. To help spark the creative process and take the intimidation out of drawing, each card has the start of an existing doodle for players to add too. The card is then passed to the next player to add to the drawing and definition. The cards become increasingly outrageous as players pass the card around for others to build on. As a result, Yamodo’s creative collaborations have people uploading their creations on www.yamodo.com for all to see.“We call it upload your best and see the rest,” Phelps said.
