StopTips™ Comes to New Canaan

- Tony’s Deli Embraces Technology for Patrons –

New Canaan, CT – (August 22, 2011) – Commuter patrons of New Canaan’s Tony’s Deli are now being treated to real-time info so that they can stay on schedule as they make their trek to the train everyday thanks to the new StopTips™ e-board that is being installed this week.

Tony’s is the first location in New Canaan to embrace the new StopTips board, which have been popping up in merchant shops all along the Metro-North train route.

Kenyon Weiss, Managing Partner of the Westport, CT based StopTips, said, “For the daily commuter, knowledge is power and we are providing real-time, specific station information that can affect the activities of people on an immediate basis.”

By working with local merchants, such as Tony’s (an ideal location for commuter information located at 78 Pine Street, just a block from the New Canaan train stop), as well as coffee shops, dry cleaners, fitness centers, and other commuter-friendly locations, StopTips is a solution to delivering all of the information that the commuter customer would need to know. In addition to the constant updating train information, the StopTips screens add immediate local business ads, local station tips, event information and other facts.

Charles Marrelli, Founding Partner of StopTips, explained, “StopTips is a resource of readily available information. For any location along the path traveled by a person on the way to the train station, StopTips can be an information delivery system that provides vital information that is specifically relevant to them. Each and every StopTips screen can be completely catered to the specific location. Our goal is for the box to become a local community resource, while all the time keeping commuters aware of the next train.”

For Giglio Electric, David Harvey Jewelers and other local area businesses, StopTips is a perfect vehicle for communicating to potential customers. A representative from David Harvey Jewelers, explained that since there are various StopTips boards all along the train route, they have chosen to select different boards in different towns and alter the advertising message to specific crowds in an effort to bring awareness to their business.

The StopTips e-boards are running everywhere from Fairfield to Stamford, and plans are to make sure that there is at least one StopTips board in each community location along the Metro-North, Hudson, Harlem and Long Island rail lines. While currently accomplishing that, StopTips is also looking to expand its service to other cities’ rail lines, ferry lines, and other high trafficked venues where mass transportation exists.

StopTips, headquartered in Westport, CT, was founded in 2010 with the development of its electronic board and proprietary software backend.  Additional information is available at www.stoptips.com and friends of the company can get instant, ongoing information by following StopTips on Facebook at www.facebook.com/stoptips .
