StopTips™ Real-Time Info E-Boards
Give Commuters Edge

- Kick-Off “WhistleStop” Tour Thurs. Morning at Local Merchants Along Train Lines -

Westport, CT – (May 25, 2011) – Anxiously waiting in line for morning coffee, commuters can now get some relief with real time information about approaching train status. It’s the premise of StopTips™, the new electronic screens that are popping up in merchant shops along the Metro-North train routes.

Kenyon Weiss, Managing Partner of the Westport, CT based StopTips, said, “For the daily commuter, knowledge is power. By providing instant information, especially to commuters, is of paramount importance because it affects a person’s actions and activities. StopTips picks up where the MTA* leaves off by making information available in areas where the average commuter would frequent in his or her morning routine.”

By working with local merchants, StopTips is a company that is delivering all of the information that the commuter customer would need to know. Kicking off the locales that have already embraced StopTips technology for their customers, StopTips will run its first WhistleStop launch on Thursday, May 26th with a morning hour tour of merchants from Fairfield to Stamford. On a schedule from 7-9:30 am, StopTips will be on hand to sponsor free coffee at four merchant shops that have already installed the state-of-the-art, new electronic info boards.

The StopTips “WhistleStop” tour schedule for Thursday morning provides free coffee from local merchants to commuters:

    • 7:00-8:00AM in Fairfield at Las Vetas Lounge ( 27 Unquowa Rd)
    • 7:30-:8:30AM in Westport at Commuter Coffee ( 46 Railroad Place)
    • 8:00-9:00AM in Noroton Heights at Darien Doughnut ( 370 Heights Rd)
    • 8:30–9:30AM in Stamford at Java Joe’s ( 1 Station Place)

Charles Marrelli, VP of Marketing and co-Partner of StopTips, explained, “Our WhistleStop tour is a kickoff to show everyone who travels the train lines that this new resource of information is available to them. StopTips doesn’t change the fact that the 7:11 is late, or that the exact time is 7:07 and the 7:27 train is running on time. What StopTips does do is provide merchants with an information delivery system that provides their customers with the vital information that is specifically relevant to them.”

In addition to the train information, the StopTips screens add headline news, weather updates, event information and other facts. “Each and every StopTips screen can be completely catered to the specific location. Local news, national headlines, weekend event planning, and special events, almost anything can be communicated immediately,” Marrelli said.

Another major advantage of StopTips is its advertising premise. With each and every StopTips board operating independently, the immediate, constantly updating information from StopTips is ideal for local advertisers. Business services have climbed on board with StopTips too. Offering packages from one board to several locations, StopTips offers advertisers a captive audience for a completely targeted demographic at a specific place and time.

“Imagine being able to speak to your best customers five times a week or more and being able to deliver time-sensitive, hyper-relevant sales events. All types of businesses, from retail shops and personal services to educational venues and charities, have welcomed StopTips as a very appropriate, new way to deliver their message to specific publics,” Marrelli said.

StopTips, headquartered in Westport, CT, was founded in 2010 with the patent of its electronic board and proprietary information resource paths.  Additional information is available at www.stoptips.com and friends of the company can get instant, ongoing information by following StopTips on Facebook at www.facebook.com/stoptips
