Playroom Releases Livingstone
- Creates New “Gateway Games” Line for its Euro-Styled Strategy Games -

North Hollywood , CA – (Sept. 19, 2009) – Playroom Entertainment, continuing to explore and discover a successful niche between family games and Euro-strategy games, today announced the nationwide availability of Livingstone™, the third title in a line that Playroom has now termed its “Gateway Games.”

Following up on the company’s previous hit games in the category, Portobello Market™ (designed by Thomas Odenhoven), and the recent release Ilium™ (Reiner Knizia), Livingstone (Benjamin Liersch) is another of Playroom’s elegantly styled, beautifully illustrated board games.

In Livingstone, the storyline is set in the year 1855, when the legendary Scottish missionary, Dr. David Livingstone, explored various regions of Africa . In the game, players are challenged to strategically set up tents and seek to collect gemstones found along the Zambezi River . The goal is to gain the most victory points and the favor of Queen Victoria in order to win the game.
