Playroom’s New Hobby Games Put Wicked Twist on Famous Tales

North Hollywood, CA – (Sept. 18, 2009) – Playroom Entertainment has put a twist on some classic fairy tale characters, mixed the stories, and produced a new line of cool new card games called Scary Tales™.

The new Scary Tales is an expanding line of games that each contains two classic fairy tale characters. As the series expands players will have the opportunity to choose any character from any of the Scary Tales match-ups to challenge any another character, or join a group to play against more than one character at once.

Playroom is now shipping the first two Scary Tales titles: Little Red Riding Hood vs. Pinocchio and Snow White vs. The Giant .

Designed by Reiner Knizia , Scary Tales (MSRP $15/each for ages 8 and up) are an edgy and playful line of card games that add a new chapter to classic fairy tales and then combine stories together for one epic game.

The setting for Scary Tales is a kingdom without a king and all of the characters are trying to become the new ruler.

In Little Red Riding Hood vs. Pinocchio, Red Riding Hood is a scorned girl on a mission to prove that she will not be fooled twice, and Pinocchio is a fibbing, scheming puppet that won't let you pull his strings. While playing the cards in the deck, players get the help of the Woodsman and the Cricket, to aid the main character’s quest.

In Snow White vs. The Giant, the Giant can crush his foes with his tremendous strength, and he has his Magic Hen to help him, but sly Snow White has some tricks up her sleeves and the assistance of all Seven Dwarfs.

Each new Scary Tales game adds two more fairy tale legends to the game, and any combination of characters can compete against each other. Playroom plans to launch two more Scary Tales titles at the American International Toy Fair in February 2010.
