Chamber Selects Benistar’s Bursey for Top Honor

Simsbury, CT – (June 12, 2007) – Senior executive of one of the nation’s leading administrators of health and welfare benefit plans, Wayne H. Bursey of BENISTAR, has been honored as Director Emeritus by the Simsbury, Connecticut Chamber of Commerce.

The outstanding recognition for Bursey is a tribute to his commitment to community and business to business networking, and the efforts on behalf of his company, BENISTAR, to business development in Simsbury and the State of Connecticut .

“It’s a great honor to be recognized by the Chamber. The organization is such a tremendously important resource for businesses and individuals,” Bursey said. “Through the Chamber we’ve been able to play an integral part in the business economy of the entire region. T o be eligible for the Chamber’s highest honor, Bursey easily met all of the criteria. He has been an active member in the Chamber for nearly 15 years. He previously served as President of the Simsbury Chamber from 2000 through 2002 and is a former member of the Board of Directors. In addition, Bursey was on the Board of Directors for the Simsbury Main Street Partnership from 1995 through 2000, serving as president of the board for two of those years. Bursey also received the Chamber of Commerce Business Leader of the Year nomination from 1999 through 2005. Over the years, Bursey has served on the Chamber’s executive, finance, program, membership, and Septemberfest committees.

Bursey has been actively involved with the chamber ever since BENISTAR moved to Connecticut in 1995 from its original headquarters in New York City .
